LEXINGTON, Ky. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, for the fifth-consecutive season. It is also the ninth time in the last 11 years that UWSP has won the award.

The Pointers were one of seven WIAC teams and 269 Division III women's programs to win the award for the 2023-24 academic year.
 
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
 
In 2023, the Pointers finished 23-11 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the fourth-straight and seventh time in 10 years that UWSP appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
 
The 2024 season begins on Aug. 30 at the Aurora Tournament against the first of 10 fellow NCAA Tournament opponents.
