STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point athletics has announced the addition of Cory Bougie and
Lucas Luedtke as assistant coaches. Bougie will be a full-time assistant coach for the women's soccer team and Luedtke a full-time assistant coach for the baseball program. Both will also split equipment manager duties.
Bougie comes to UWSP from Wittenberg Birnamwood High School where he was a chemistry and physics teacher. In 2022, he was the head varsity coach at Gresham High School and has had coaching experience at Shawano High, Wrightstown High and Shawano Middle School. A graduate of UW-Oshkosh in 2021, Bougie obtained his US Soccer D license in 2022. He was a first-team all-WJCAA and team captain for UW-Fond du Lac in 2010. He also played a season at Ripon College in 2008.
Luedtke is no stranger to UWSP. He returns to his alma mater after spending the last two seasons on the staff as a part-time assistant. In 2022, he concluded his playing career with an ABCA/Rawlings Second-Team All-America nod. He earned all-region honors that season from both ABCA and d3baseball and was an All-WIAC honorable mention pick. Luedtke played for the Pointers from 2018 to 2022 after transferring in after a season at Minnesota-Morris. He posted 22 home runs, 114 RBI and hit .299 during his UWSP career and helped the Pointers reach the College World Series in 2022 for the sixth time in program history.
Bougie and Luedtke will officially begin their duties at UWSP on July 1.
