Four members of the UW-Stevens Point softball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, the organization announced Tuesday (May 28). Senior
Sara Traxel (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek), juniors
Rachel Baker (Richmond, Ill./Richmond-Burton Community) and
Emmie Cibrario (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) along with sophomore
Sophia Heckendorf (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) were honored.

Traxel garners her second-straight academic all-district award. She led the team in hitting at .365 and started all 41 games. She was an All-WIAC selection this season. Traxel topped the team with 21 stolen bases and holds the career record with 58 stolen bases at UWSP. She tied for the team-lead with 27 RBI and was second with 13 doubles. She had multiple RBI in seven games, including a season-high four in a win over St. Norbert on April 9.

Baker gets her second-consecutive academic all-district laurel. She started 40 games and was third on the team in hitting at .352. She hit two home runs, drove in 18 and scored 26 runs. She stole 14 bases and led the team with six hit by pitches. Baker was named to the All-WIAC honorable mention team this season.

Cibrario repeats as an academic all-district selection after earning the accolade in 2023. She started all 41 games and hit .266 on the season. She had 25 hits, 12 RBI and scored 11 runs. Cibrario began the season with a nine-game hitting streak and picked up WIAC Player of the Week honors in February.

Heckendorf snags her first career academic all-district honor. She played in all 41 games and started 40 times. She hit .263 with two doubles, five RBI and 16 runs scored. She stole 11 bases on the season.

UWSP went 32-9 and reached the NCAA Tournament, both firsts since 2007. The Pointers stole 111 bases on the season, a team record and tied for the third-most in WIAC single-season history.
