Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton),
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) and
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) competed at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships Friday afternoon.

In the first round of the 800-meter run, Gilles finished with a time of 1:51.20 in heat one of the event. He finished second in his heat and second overall, earning one of the top seeds in the 800-meter finals. He finished 0.09 milliseconds behind a fellow heat one runner from Plymouth State as they ran neck-and-neck down the stretch.

Ploederl finished tied for 14
th in the high jump as the Pointers' first individual in the jump events this weekend. He finished with a top jump of 2.00 meters (6' 6.75").

Rennhack placed 15
th in the shot put with a best throw of 15.96 meters (52' 4.5"). He finished 1.66 meters off of the would-be mark for top eight in the country and All-America honors.

The Pointers return to action on Saturday (May 25) for the final day of NCAA Nationals. Events are scheduled to start at 12 p.m. ET.
