LA CROSSE, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams traveled to La Crosse for the Eagle Open in a last-ditch effort to deliver qualifying times for the NCAA Championships.
 
Results
 
For the men, Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) slotted in with the Pointers best finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.98 meters (6' 6"), finishing tied for second.
 
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) added a fifth-place finish in the shot put with a heave of 16.12 meters (52' 10.75").
 
Austin Phillips (Two Rivers, Wis./Two Rivers) zipped his way to a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.72.
 
Tyler Nosko (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) logged a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:05.54.
 
For the women, Natalie Johnson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) led the charge with a fifth-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:54.40.
 
The relay unit of Jaimie Deschand (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac), Margaret Hopkins (South Bend, Ind./Saint Joseph), Natalie Johnson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) and Madi Juenger (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:26.10.
 
Kassia Marquardt (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) logged a seventh-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:44.17.
 
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) registered a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 12.23 meters (40' 1.50").
 
The Pointers look to take on the Augustana Midwest Twilight next on Thursday (May 16).
