MADISON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team shut out Edgewood, 9-0, in its final tune-up before league play begins on Sunday.
Frederick Diehl (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angles) needed a super-breaker win at No. 2 singles to secure the shutout. He won the first set, 7-6 (3), but dropped the second set, 6-1. In the super-breaker, he prevailed with a 10-8 win.

Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) won their No. 1 doubles match, 8-3. Benoy took No. 1 singles by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
Conner Kryscio (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and
Dominik Hendrickson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) were victorious at No. 2 doubles, 8-1. Kryscio also won his No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-2.
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Josh Zaborski (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy) cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. Schreier won at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Zaborski took his No. 6 singles match by a 6-2, 6-3 score.
Luca Hettstedt (Marbella, Spain/German School Marbella) needed a tiebreak in set two to win at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 7-6 (4).
The Pointers open conference action at home on Sunday (April 7) agaisnt UW-Whitewater. First serve is slated for 11:00 a.m. at SentryWorld.
