DE PERE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams competed at the St. Norbert Invitational with the men taking first place with 199 team points and the women taking second with 175 team points.
Results
For the men,
Tyler Nosko (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) got the Pointers started with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.45.
Joshua Jumbeck (Galesville, Wis./Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau) earned his best finish of the season in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:09.45.
The relay unit of
Andrew Vold (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln),
Jack Redmond (Pittsville, Wis./Pittsville),
Jack Gjovik (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) and
Nicholas Sperkowski (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) logged a first-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 43.86.
Zach Brandenburg (Kronenwetter, Wis./D.C. Everest) stormed through the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:16.36 to take a first-place finish.
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) continues to head the Pointers in the high jump, adding another first-place finish with a mark of 2.00 meters (6' 6.75").
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) pieced together a consistent day with two second-place finishes in the shot put with a mark of 16.47 meters (54' 0.50") and in the hammer throw with a heave of 51.21 meters (168' 0").
For the women,
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) registered a first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.60.
Jordan Shamion (Iron River, Mich./West Iron County) added a win in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.54.
Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) logged a first-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters (5' 3").
In the throws,
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) took first-place in the shot put with a throw of 12.27 meters (40' 3.25") while
Amelia Retzlaff (New Lisbon, Wis./New Lisbon) finished first in the hammer throw with a heave of 45.64 meters (149' 9").
The Pointers look to square off at the WIAC Outdoor Championships (presented by Culver's) on Friday (May 3). First events are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
