LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team dropped its second-straight to begin league play with an 8-1 loss at UW-La Crosse.
Conner Kryscio (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) earned UWSP's only win of the day taking his No. 3 singles match, 6-1, 6-4.
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) battled at No. 1 singles, but came up short, 7-6, 7-5.
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Luca Hettstedt (Marbella, Spain/German School Marbella) dropped identical 6-1, 7-6 scores at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Dominik Hendrickson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) won three games in each set at No. 6 singles.
UWSP's No. 3 doubles team of
Logan Eithun (Milton, Wis./Milton) and Hettstedt battled to an 8-6 loss.
The Pointers host UW-Eau Claire on Friday (April 12) in the final home match of the year. First serve at University Courts is slated for 3:30 p.m.
