EAST MOLINE, Ill. – The No. 15 UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling placed second out of 23 teams at the Quad Cities D3 National Invite.
Results
Ngao Shoua Whitethorn (River Falls, Wis./Apple Valley) won the 130 bracket. She won by tech fall in the semifinal round. Then in the title match, she won by fall.
Jade Herzer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) also won her bracket at 170. She picked up an 8-1 decision win in the semifinals. Then she won the bracket with a win by fall.
Abby Nelson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) placed second in the 116 bracket. She won by tech fall in the semifinals.
Rose Ann Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) took fifth with a win by forfeit.
In the 136 bracket, Brooke Schueneman finished third. She won twice by tech fall in the consolation bracket on Saturday.
Morgan Bethea (Neillsville, Wis./Neillsville) finished third in the 101 bracket. She won by forfeit and then by tech fall in the third-place match.
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) took fifth in the 109 bracket. She won by fall in the fifth-place match.
Angelica Torres Lima (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine East) finished sixth in the 123 bracket.
Tabitha Breitrick (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) came in sixth in the 170 bracket.
Cera Philson (Thorp, Wis./Thorp) placed eighth in the 130 bracket.
The Pointers return home for the final home dual of the season on Thursday (Feb. 8). UWSP will host Dubuque in Berg Gym beginning at 7:30 p.m.
