STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams hosted the annual Big Dawg Invite with both units taking second. The men scored 166.50 points and the women tallied 105.50.
 
Results
 
For the UWSP women, Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) ran a blazing time of 9:55.63 in the 3000-meter run. Krouse's first-place performance tabbed her with a top-15 time in the nation.
 
Malina Carattini (Mosinee, Wis/Mosinee) logged a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.80.
 
The relay team of Jordan Shamion (Iron River, Mich./West Iron County), KD Knipp (Mercer, Wis./Mercer), Grace Goodness (Pulaski, Wis./Pulaski) and Ashley Spatz (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) took first in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:15.63.
 
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) added another win for UWSP in the shot put with a heave of 13.10 meters (42' 11.75").
 
Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) earned a third-place finish in the high jump with a height of J1.50 meters (4' 11").
 
For the UWSP men, Tre Sanda (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Parker) compiled an impressive day with a first-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 13.80 meters (45' 3.50"). Sanda also added a second-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.47 meters (21' 2.75").
 
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) led the Pointers' throwers with a first-place finish in the shot put with a heave of 15.69 meters (51' 11.75") and a second-place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 16.04 meters (52' 7.50").
 
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) logged a first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.00.
 
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) kept the wins coming for the Pointers with a first-place finish in the high jump with a height of 2.00 meters (6' 6.75").
 
The relay unit of Jack Redmond (Pittsville, Wis./Pittsville), Joey Kavlauskas, Austin Phillips (Two Rivers, Wis./Two Rivers) and Sam Graff (Eland, Wis./D.C. Everest) took second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:35.01.
 
Quinn Greer (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.86. Ryan Reed (Madison, Wis./West) also added a second-place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:27.67.
 
The Pointers travel back to Whitewater for Midwest Elite Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 10) at 11:00 a.m.
