STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point softball doubleheader against Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday (March 1) has been moved outdoors and will be played at McCarty Memorial Field. First pitch is adjusted to 12:00 p.m.
The twin bill was originally scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in the Hodag Dome in Rhinelander, but with the spring-like weather in Stevens Point earlier in the week, the field preparations were made ahead of Wednesday's cold snap. The return of nice weather for the end of the week has allowed the game to be played on UWSP's home field.
No admission will be charged as we hope fans will enjoy an opportunity to watch softball outdoors at an unseasonable early time of the year for Stevens Point.
The Pointers began the season 4-0 last week with a sweep of the Blue Angel Invite.
Emmie Cibrario (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) and
Ashley Zygowski (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington) earned WIAC Athlete of the week honors. Cibrario hit .625 with five steals while Zygowski posted a win and two saves.
