WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams wrapped the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) with both the men and women finishing sixth. The men scored 23 points and the women tallied 32.5 points.
 
Results
 
For the men, Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) earned a podium finish taking third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.78.
 
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) earned a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.94 meters (6' 4.25").
 
Gavin Ridge (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) moved up to 10th in the heptathlon after scoring a total 4287 points.
 
The relay unit of Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union), Jaimie Deschand (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac), Malina Carattini (Mosinee, Wis/Mosinee) and Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) highlighted the UWSP women in the 4x400 meter relay with a third-place finish racing to a time of 3:59.48.
 
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) continued her productive weekend with a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:03.44.
 
Rachel Perry (Mantorville, Minn./RAACHE) earned the top placement for the Pointers in the pentathlon as she placed 12th with a total score of 2596. Her best event came in the 800-meter run with a ninth-place finish and a mark of 2:39.90.

Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) and Brooke Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) represented UWSP on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship teams.
 
The Pointers will resume action on Saturday (March. 2) at the Wartburg Final Qualifier.
