BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 final at Northwestern on Saturday.
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) won both matches he played on the day. He won his No. 6 singles match, 6-2, 6-0. At No. 3 doubles, he and partner
Luca Hettstedt (Marbella, Spain/German School Marbella) won by an 8-1 final.
Conner Kryscio (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) was victorious at No. 3 singles winning by a 7-5, 6-3 score.
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Frederick Diehl (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angles) took their No. 1 doubles match to a tiebreak, falling short, 8-7 (3).
Hettstedt fell in a close match at No. 4 singles, 7-5. 7-6 (5). Benoy dropped his No. 1 singles match by a 6-4, 7-5 score.
Dominik Hendrickson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) came up short at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-2. Diehl won seven games at No. 2 singles.
UWSP will travel to Lake Forest, Ill., for a 4:00 p.m. match on Saturday (March 2) against Lake Forest College.
