OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams traveled to the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge where the men finished third and the women earned fourth. The men scored 69 points and the women tallied 62 points.
Results
For the men,
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) continued his strong indoor season with a win in the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 1:52.38.
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) earned his best placement of the season of second in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:36.87.
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) earned top-three finishes in the throwing events. He placed second in the shot put with a throw of 16.18 meters (53' 1") and took third in the weight throw with a heave of 16.41 meters (53' 10.25").
Freshman
Dean Montour (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) earned a top mark in the mile run after placing third with a time of 4:26.51.
For the women,
Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) added a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.75.
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) contributed a top finish in the 3000-meter run with a second-place finish to a mark of 10:21.88.
The relay unit of
Malina Carattini (Mosinee, Wis/Mosinee),
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union),
Jaimie Deschand (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) and Vogele logged a second-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:57.88.
Adyn Theriault (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) added two fourth-place finishes in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.93 and in the long jump with a distance of 5.24 meters (17' 2.25").
The Pointers set their sights on the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) which will start Friday (Feb. 23). First events are scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
