MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The No. 18 UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team won a 29-17 final at No. 14 Augsburg on Sunday.
The Pointers were up 20-0 before any action on the mat began.
Morgan Bethea (Neillsville, Wis./Neillsville),
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo),
Rose Ann Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Brianna Derouin (Menasha, Wis./Menasha) all won by forfeit.
Makenna Hanke (Theresa, Wis.) earned a win by tech fall at 130 completing the 10-0 win at the 3:35 mark.
Amor Tuttle (North St. Paul, Minn./Stillwater Area Senior) followed with a 10-0 tech fall win of her own at 136 in a time of 1:14.
Brooke Schuenemann (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth Comprehensive) picked up UWSP's final point by scoring in the 143 match.
The Pointers return to action at Regionals on Feb. 25 hosted by North Central in Naperville, Ill. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. that day.
