WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams traveled back to Whitewater for the Midwest ELITE Invitational where the men took fifth and the women finished eighth. The men scored 48.5 points and the women tallied 17.5.
Results
For the men, Quinn Greer (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) headed the Pointers efforts with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.02. Following quickly behind was Brad Brewer (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) who finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.70.
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) logged a second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.98 meters (6' 6").
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) registered a second-place finish in the shot put with a heave of 16.48 meters (54' 1").
The relay team of Greer, Brewer, Aiden Leist (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) and Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) took third in the 4x400-meter with a time of 3:24.02
Gilles earned a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.63.
For the women, Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) posted a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.58 meters (5' 2.25").
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.51.
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) ran the mile run to a time of 5:06.48 to take a sixth-place finish.
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) tacked on a sixth-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.87 meters (42' 2.75").
The Pointers travel to Oshkosh for the Titan Challenge on Saturday (Feb. 17).
