WHEATON, Ill.— The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's swimming and diving teams are each third after the completion of day one of the Wheaton Invitational. The UWSP men have a score of 357, just behind second place with a score of 369. The UWSP women have a score of 347, just behind second place with a score of 367.
Day One Results
The Pointer men were led by first-place finishes by
Scott Jenn (Madison, Wis./Memorial) and
Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest). Jenn took the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.46. Barwick finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.89.
The Pointer women were led by
Hollyn Ambre (Batavia, Ill./Batavia). Ambre took the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.15. Ambre was also part of the team winning the 200-yard freestyle relay, along with
Rose Hansen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids),
Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther) and
Maddy Magle (Sheboygan, Wis./Kohler), with a time of 1:37.73.
Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.86.
The UWSP swimming and diving team will continue day two of the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday (Dec. 7) beginning at 10:00 a.m.
