HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – The No. 17 UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team had three wrestlers land on the podium Monday at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. The Pointers were eighth among 13 scored teams.
Results
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) was second in the 110 bracket. She won three times, once each by decision, fall and tech fall.
Alaina Sunlin (Monticello, Iowa/Monticello) took third in the 110 bracket with four wins, three by fall and one by tech fall.
Jade Herzer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) placed second in the 207 bracket. She won her first two matches by fall and advanced to the finals with an 8-2 decision win.
Tabitha Breitrick (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) earned a win by fall at 180.
Cadie Percy (Windsor, Colo./Windsor) got a tech fall win at 138 and
Lynnia Doss (Beachwood, Ohio/Beachwood) won a decision in the bracket as well.
Cera Philson (Thorp, Wis./Thorp) and
Makenna Hanke (Theresa, Wis.) each had one win in the 131 bracket. Philson won a 10-4 decision and Hanke got a win by tech fall.
Amelia Adams (La Crosse, Wis./Logan) got a 10-3 decision win in the 124 bracket.
The Pointers are back in action on Jan. 10 at the NWCA Nationals Duals.
