STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team will not only host Marian on Thursday (Dec. 19) but start a hopeful new tradition of Education Day.

Thursday's 12:00 p.m. home game against Marian will be played in Quandt Fieldhouse in order to accommodate the 1,500 Stevens Point Area School District elementary students invited to the game. Members of the student organization SHAPER Club (Students for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation) will have activities to engage the elementary students throughout the game.

Admission to Thursday's game is free to all fans and concessions will be available.

The anticipated 1,500 students along with other fans at the game are likely to set a home UWSP women's basketball attendance record based on available data.

The Pointers are 7-1 entering Thursday's game while Marian brings a 3-4 record into the non-conference matchup.
