Pointers Earn Six First-Place Finishes at Minnesota State Mankato/Gustavus Tri

SAINT PETER, Minn. —  The UWSP swimming and diving teams earned six first-place finishes at the Minnesota State Mankato/Gustavus Tri. The men finished with a score of 125.50 to Gustavus' 187.50 and the women finished with a score of 39 to Minnesota State Mankato's 267 and a score of 80 to Gustavus' 233.
 
Results
 
The Pointer men were led by Declan Trant (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) winning the one-meter and three-meter dives with scores of 342.75 and 282.35, respectively.
 
Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.83. He also led off the 400-yard freestyle relay that included Peter McMahon (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay), Kody Hellenbrand (Madison, Wis./East) and Jacob Biscan (Edina, Minn./Edina) that won with a time of 3:14.21.
 
Ryan Trantham (Mackinaw, Ill./Deer Creek Mackinaw) finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:36.54. He took second place in the 500-yard freestyle and the 400-yard IM with times of 5:07.46 and 4:28.96, respectively.
 
Scott Jenn (Madison, Wis./Memorial) earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.73.  He was a part of the second-place 200-yard medley relay that included Hellenbrand, Biscan and Barwick with a time of 1:37.56.
 
The Pointer women had three second-place finishes by Paige Anderson (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake Area) in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:33.89, Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther) in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.97 and Ryanne Strausbaugh (Muskego, Wis./Franklin) in the three-meter dive with a score of 221.65.
 
The UWSP swimming and diving team are back in action on Saturday (Nov. 16) in the UWSP Aquatics Center to host UW-Whitewater at 1:00 p.m.

200-yard medley relay- Campbell Sullivan (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Nicol, Simpson, McMahon (4th, 1:40.86)

1000-yard freestyle- McGraw (3rd, 10:48.25)

100-yard backstroke- Sullivan (5th, 59.18)

50-yard freestyle- Biscan (3rd, 22.42) and Simpson (5th, 22.89)
