TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team placed 16th in the 32-team field at Saturday's NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.

Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) was the first Pointer across the finish line taking 55th. His time was 24:55.8. Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) was 107th with a time of 25:14.7. Mateo Alvarado Venegas (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) ran a time of 25:18.8 to come in 121st.
 
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut) placed 143rd with a time of 25:26.9. Dean Montour (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) took 184th with a time of 25:41.5 and Ryan Rininger (Wauconda, Ill/Wauconda) was 197th with a time of 25:46.4.
 
The Pointers were making their first NCAA Championships appearance since 2010.
