STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country teams hosted the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) on Saturday with the men placing fifth and the women taking eighth.
Results
Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) paced the men with a time of 24:34.1 to place 15th.
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut) was just three runners behind in 18th with a time of 24:46.6. Mateo Alvarado-Venegas crossed the line at 24;58.6 for 27th.
Ryan Rininger (Wauconda, Ill/Wauconda) and
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) finished the team scoring coming in 40th and 43rd, respectively.
For the women,
Brooklyn Hoff (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) led the way in 43rd with a time of 23:09.2.
Natalie Johnson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) placed 51st at 23:30.6.
Kassia Marquardt (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie),
Hadley Reines (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) and
Makaela Malin (Monticello, Minn./St. Michael, Albertville) were within six seconds of each other to round out the teams scoring.
Senior
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) was bestowed the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete at the post-race awards ceremony.
The Pointers are next in action on Nov. 16 at the NCAA North Regional in Northfield, Minn.
