STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (8-4-3, 1-1-0) suffered a 2-0 defeat to UW-River Falls (6-6-0, 2-0-0) on Saturday.
Neither team cracked the scoreboard in the first half.
As the second half began, intensity and chippiness increased. In the 52nd minute, UWRF was served a straight red giving the Pointers a man advantage.
But against the run of play, the Falcons scored first in the 57th minute despite being down a man.
In the 68th minute, UWSP was docked a man as a second yellow leveled the players to 10 a side. The Pointers had another man sent off in the 82nd minute.
The Falcons added a second score in the 90th minute on the counterattack.

Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made seven saves. UWRF keeper Alvaro Boned had three saves.
The Pointers face UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Oct. 19) in the final home match of the regular season. Kick off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
