ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team completed its run at the ITA Regionals and Midwest Open on Saturday.
Results
Luca Hettstedt (Marbella, Spain/German School Marbella) won his fourth-round match in the Midwest Open Singles C bracket. His 6-2, 7-5 win over an opponent from Central moved Hettstedt into the quarterfinals. There, he fell, 6-2, 3-0 before retiring to a foe from St. Olaf.
Hettstedt and
Dominik Hendrickson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) dropped an 8-6 score in the Midwest Open doubles second-round match against Carthage.
Connor Paullin (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) and
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) also came up short in the second round by an 8-3 score to MSOE.
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) dropped his third-round match in the ITA Regionals to a player from host Gustavus Adolphus.
The Pointers close out the fall season with a non-conference match against UW-La Crosse on Oct. 8. First serve is slated for 11:00 a.m. at University Courts.
