RACINE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision against MSOE in Racine on Saturday.
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) highlighted the UWSP performance with a win at No. 4 singles by super-breaker. After falling in the opening set, 6-1, he rallied for a 6-3 win in the second. In the super-breaker, he prevailed by a 10-4 score.
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) also got a victory for UWSP. He won at No. 1 singles by a 7-5, 6-4 final. Benoy paired with
Frederick Diehl (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angles) at No. 1 doubles and won five games.
UWSP's No. 3 doubles duo of
Luca Hettstedt (Marbella, Spain/German School Marbella) and
Dominik Hendrickson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) also won five games. Hendrickson won five games at No. 6 singles as well.
Connor Paullin (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) won two games at No. 2 singles.
The Pointers will travel to Minnesota next week for the ITA Regionals beginning on Friday (Sept. 29).
