ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams took its final chances at meeting qualifications for the NCAA Championships by competing at the Augustana Midwest Twilight on Thursday.
Results
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot) ran a personal-best in the 800-meter run clocking in at 2:11.17 to take fifth. She also ran the first leg of the 4x400-meter relay with teammates
Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah),
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) and
Mackenzie Johnson (Cumberland, Wis./Cumberland) to post the best time of the year at 3:52.31.
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) also notched a personal-best in the 800-meter run. He ran a time of 1:50.92, cutting more than a second off his previous best, to finish sixth.
Mason Mead (Wausau, Wis./West) placed ninth in the 400-meter dash. His time of 49.73 was also a PR.
Qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be announced on Friday (May 19).
