The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams sent athletes to the Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse and a tri at St. Norbert. Both the men and women finished third at SNC.

Makenzie Lueck (Walworth, Wis./Big Fort) won both the shot put and the hammer throw at St. Norbert. Her winning hammer distance of 45.64 meters (149' 9") was more than five meters beyond the runner up.
 
Kassia Marquardt (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) was second in the 800-meter run and Savan Burg took third in the 40-meter dash.
 
On the men's side, Jacob Ullrich won the shot put with a distance of 12.15 meters (39' 10.5"), just 0.05 meters over the runner up.
 
Austin Kopp (Mosinee, Wis./D.C. Everest) was first in the hammer throw. His winning distance of 46.65 meters (153' 1") was nearly two meters ahead of the second-place finisher.
 
At the Esten Challenge, Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) had the best finish, coming in fourth in the shot put with a distance of 14.85 meters (48' 8.75").
 
The Pointers will send more athletes to La Crosse on Saturday (April 22) to compete in day two action of the Esten Challenge. The first event begins at 1:00 p.m.
