WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat at UW-Whitewater in the conference finale on Friday.
UWSP's No. 1 doubles duo of
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Diego Mosquera Herrero (Madrid, Spain) won four games in an 8-4 loss.
Dan Harris (Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) and
Spencer Gross (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) fell by the same score at No. 3 doubles.
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Connor Paullin (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) won two games at No. 2 doubles.
Harris won six games at No. 5 singles dropping a 6-4, 6-2 final. Benoy won five games falling 6-2, 6-3.
Gross fell by a 6-2, 6-2 score at No. 6 singles. Schreier and Mosquera Herrero won one game in each set at No. 3 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
The Pointers wrap up the regular season with home matches against Edgewood (11:00 a.m.) and Marian (2:30 p.m.) on April 22 at University Courts.
