Pfeifer, Thomson Earn All-WIAC Laurels for the Pointers

MADISON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team landed two players, Jamie Pfeifer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) and Alexa Thomson (De Pere, Wis./West), on the All-WIAC honorable mention team, the league office announced on Wednesday (Mar. 1). Pfeifer was also named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Pfeifer picks up her second-straight all-conference award after an honorable mention selection in 2022. She also earned her second career sportsmanship nod. She started all 25 games and was second on the team in scoring at 9.8 points per game. Pfeifer led the team in blocks with 13 and shooting percentage at .450 from the floor. On the season, she had double-figure scoring 12 games, including a season-high 20 at Saint Mary's in Dec. She posted a double-double with a season-high 13 rebounds at home against Lakeland in Nov.
 
Thomson garners her first career league honor. She also started all 25 games and led UWSP in scoring at 11.2 points per game. Thomson was also the leading rebounder with 195 on the year, the leader in three-point makes at 29 and total field goals made with 98. She led the WIAC this season in offensive rebounds with 73 and an average of 2.9 per game. She had two double-doubles on the year, was in double-figures scoring on 13 occasions and hauled in double-digit rebounds in eight games. Thomson was named to the UWW All-Tournament Team in Nov. and last week picked up College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team honors.
