STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point baseball fans will have to wait another day for the Pointers to kick off the 2023 season as weather has forced a shift in the entire weekend slate at Millikin.
 
Originally scheduled to begin the season on Saturday, the Pointers will now begin the season on Sunday (Mar. 5). That day the season opener against St. Scholastica will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Pointers will return to action at 1:30 against Coe. The weekend will wrap up as UWSP faces host Millikin on Monday at 12:00 p.m. All games to be played at Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Ill.

Sun., March 5 – 10:30 a.m. vs. St. Scholastica
Sun., March 5 – 1:30 p.m. vs. Coe
Mon., March 6 – 12:00 p.m. at Millikin
 
The Pointers enter the 2023 season as the No. 6 team in the nation according to this week's D3baseball.com/NCBWA poll released Tuesday (Feb. 28). Last season, UWSP finished third in the country reaching the semifinals of the College World Series while setting a school record with 42 wins.
