ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team suffered a pair of 9-0 losses to No. 17 Gustavus Adolphus and Grinnell on Saturday.
Steven Benoy (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Diego Mosquera Herrero (Madrid, Spain) faired the best on the day at No. 1 doubles with an 8-6 loss to GAC. They dropped an 8-2 decision against Grinnell.
Benoy won four games against GAC at No. 1 singles. Mosquera Herrero also won four games in a loss at No. 2 singles against Grinnell.
Hayden Schreier (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) won five games at No. 3 singles versus Grinnell. He also paired with
Connor Paullin (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) at No. 2 doubles and they came up short in an 8-4 score versus GAC.
The Pointers open conference play on Saturday (Feb. 4) at UW-Eau Claire. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
