NORTHFIELD, Minn. – UW-Stevens Point women's soccer goalkeeper
Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made a career-high 12 saves as the Pointers (0-2-0) dropped a 1-0 decision at St. Olaf (1-1-0) on Sunday.
Nieman made seven saves in the opening 45 minutes as the Pointers held the Oles off the board and the match was scoreless at the half.
Nieman made four more saves in the second half before the Oles finally got one past her in the 66th minute.
In the 84th minute,
Savannah Reed (Waukegan, Ill./St. Joseph Catholic Academy) tested St. Olaf goalkeeper Grace Sprangers for the first and only time in the match.
The Oles out-shot UWSP 28-4, 13-1 on goal. St. Olaf earned 10 corner kicks to UWSP's two.
The Pointers stay on the road with a 4:30 p.m. match at Hamline on Wednesday (Sept. 7).
