KENOSHA, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (1-3-2) got a first half goal, but had to settle for a 1-1 tie at Carthage (0-1-4) on Wednesday.

Kati Frierdich (Neenah, Wis./Winneconne) found the back of the net in the 25th minute for her first goal of the season.
Shea-Lynn Gerred (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) made it three-straight matches with a point with an assist on the goal.
UWSP earned four corner kicks in the first half and out-shot the Firebirds, 4-2, to hold the one-goal advantage at the half.
Carthage put the first shot on goal in the second half and it resulted in a game-tying goal in the 68th minute.

Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made a save on the only other shot on goal in the second half, one of her five saves in the game. Carthage goalkeeper Ainsley Stallworth had three saves.
The Pointers return home for two matches this weekend beginning on Saturday (Sept. 17) with a 12:00 p.m. kickoff against Wartburg.
