DECORAH, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (1-3-1) ended the weekend in Iowa with a 2-1 defeat at Luther (2-1-0) on Saturday.
The host Norse took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute on the first shot on frame by either team.
Shea-Lynn Gerred (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) leveled the match in the 40th minute. Her unassisted goal was the first of the season for Gerred and the only shot on goal in the first half for UWSP.
In the 79th minute, Luther converted a free kick from about 25 yards out to take the lead with what proved to be the game-winner.

Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made five saves in the match. The Pointers had four shots on goal.
The Pointers wrap up the road trip with a 7:00 p.m. match at Carthage on Wednesday (Sept. 14).
