STEVENS POINT, Wis – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams won three events on the men's side at the Big Dawg Invitational on Saturday. They battled against UW-Whitewater, UW-Eau Claire and St. Norbert College with no team scores reported.
 
Results
 
On the men's side, Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) nabbed a first-place finish in triple jump with an impressive distance of 12.78 meters (41' 11.25").
 
Ashton Arnold (Kiel, Wis./Kiel), Conor McCoy (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus), Spencer Lindstrom (Geneseo, Ill./Geneseo) and David Kerschner (Appleton, Wis./North) teamed up in the distance medley to capture a first-place finish with a time of 10:48.50.
 
Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) was able to snatch a first-place finish in shot put, finishing with a distance of 15.20 meters (49' 10.50"). Additionally, Orr threw for a distance of 16.73 meters (54' 10.75") in weight throw that grabbed him a second-place finish.
 
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) had a time of 4:35.54 in the 1-mile run, good for a second-place finish. Caleb Carter (Lisle, Ill./Lisle) took second in the long jump with a distance of 6.51 meters (21' 4.25").
 
UWSP women's team was led by Abby Nelson's (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) second-place finish in pole vault with a height of 3.49 meters (11' 5.25").
 
UWSP landed third-place finishes from Kasy Walker-Daniels (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) in triple jump, Brilyn Brecka (Alma, Wis./Alma) in weight throw and Ashley Spatz (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) in the 400-meter dash.
 
UWSP returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 12) at UW-Whitewater to compete in the Midwest Invitational starting at 11 a.m.
