Pointers Take Fifth at Adrian Women’s Open, Herzer Second at 170

ADRIAN, Mich. – The UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team had six athletes place and two consolation champions as the team took fifth at the Adrian Women's Open on Sunday.
 
Results
 
Jade Herzer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) reached the finals of the 170 bracket before placing second. She had two tech fall wins and a 7-5 decision victory. Tabitha Breitrick (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) was the consolation B champion with two tech fall win and a win by fall. Taylor Schulz (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) earned a win by fall in the consolation bracket as well.
 
Shaina Hyre (Lawrenceville, Ill./Lawrenceville) won the consolation championship in the 109 bracket. She won by fall twice and earned a 6-2 decision win in the consolation bracket.
 
Amor Tuttle (North St. Paul, Minn./Stillwater Area Senior) placed third in the 136 bracket. She started the day with a win by fall. She followed that up with a tech fall and then won the third-place match with a 4-3 decision victory.
 
Rose Ann Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) took fifth in the 123 bracket. She had four wins all by tech fall in the bracket. Olivia Hollenbeck (Tacoma, Wash./Bethel) had two wins by fall in the 123 consolation bracket. Rian Grunwald (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) also earned a win by fall in the 123 consolation bracket.
 
Brindelyn Eternicka (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) placed sixth in the 191 bracket. She won by tech fall in her first match of the day. Kelly Enriquez (Waukesha, Wis./South) also placed sixth in the 101 bracket. She earned a decision win by a 12-9 score. 
 
Katlyn Grant (Eau Claire, Wis./North) took eighth in the 143 bracket. She earned an 8-5 decision win in her first match of the day.
 
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) earned a tech fall win in the consolation bracket at 116.
 
The Pointers will next be in action on Dec. 2 at the Carthage Duals.
