GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams concluded the NCAA Outdoor Championships with three more individual All-American finishes and both teams ending up in the top-26.
Results
Tom Kohn (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) was the national runner-up in the triple jump with a distance of 15.02 meters (49' 3.5"). He was just 0.09 meters shy of the national champion.
Alex Poncelet (Hastings, Minn./Hastings) also earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in the hammer throw. His throw went 56.02 meters (183' 9"). Teammates
Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) and
Dylan Delaney (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) placed 12th and 14th, respectively.
Elle Maculan (Rockford, Ill./Auburn) finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles finals. Her time was 1:03.05.
Larkin Hoepner (Eau Claire, Wis./North) competed in both the shot put and the hammer throw on Saturday. She placed 13th in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.61 meters (162' 9"). In the shot put, she finished 19th with a distance of 12.39 meters (40' 7.75").
UWSP captured six All-American honors on the week. The two on the men's side is the most since 2017 and the four by the women this week is the most since 2016.
