STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point athletics department has formed the initial Pointers Advisory Board, a wide-ranging, well-rounded group of external and internal professional and industry experts.
 
The advisory board was developed to strengthen bridges to necessary external stakeholders to continue the competitive excellence of Pointers Athletics.  Coming out of a worldwide pandemic, it has never been more important to have stakeholders with an interest in long-term viability and success of UWSP Athletics.
 
Board members will serve terms ranging from six to 10 years and their expertise will continue to enhance the student-athlete experience.
 
The initial Pointers Advisory Board members are:

• Ray Ackerlund – President, Skyward, Inc.
• Jack Bennett – Retired UWSP Basketball Coach
• Katie Cunningham – Brand Manager for Marshfield Clinic Health System
• Clark Eckhoff – Director of Corporate Partnerships at Badger State Games & President at Valley Blue Sox
• Dan Hauser – Retired NBA Executive
• Jeron Jackson – System Service Line Administrator of Medical Oncology/Hematology and Palliative Care Services for Marshfield Clinic
• Mike James – General Manager of SentryWorld  
• Tim Schierl – Co-CEO at Team Schierl Cos.
• Amy Staven – Assistant Vice President and Performance Consultant for U.S Bank
• Tom Weaver – Public and Community Relations Manager at Ascension Wisconsin
