TIFFIN, Ohio – UW-Stevens Point women's wrestlers
Abby Nelson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) and
Brooke Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) picked up All-American honors with seventh-place finishes at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships on Saturday.
Results
Nelson won three matches on the day in the 116 bracket, all in the consolation bracket. She won by tech fall and then recorded a pair of falls to take seventh.
Thurber won two matches in the 101 consolation bracket. She picked up a tech fall victory and then pinned her opponent in the seventh-place match.
Freshman
Savannah Hisel (LaValle, Wis./Ithaca) picked up a decision victory in the 143 consolation bracket.
Morgan Bethea (Neillsville, Wis./Neillsville) competed at 123,
Tabitha Breitrick (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) at 191 and
Kelly Enriquez (Waukesha, Wis./South) in the 109 bracket for UWSP.
