NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team completed its 2021 competition with a sixth-place team finish at the NCC Invite.
Results
Brooke Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) was the Pointers top finisher taking second in the 101 bracket. She won by tech fall to begin the day and won by fall to advance to the finals. But an injury left her with a second-place finish.
Jade Herzer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis. /Wisconsin Dells) took fourth in the 170 bracket. She won her opening match by a 7-2 decision before a pair of tech fall wins later in the day.
Abby Nelson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) placed sixth in the 116 bracket. Her first match of the day, she pinned her opponent in 17 seconds. Then in the consolation bracket, she won two more matches by fall in times of 28 seconds and 3:00.
Megan Struble (Seymour, Wis./Seymour Community) pinned her opponent in 46 seconds in her opening match for her only win of the day in the 143 bracket. In the 191 bracket,
Tabitha Breitrick (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) earned a win by tech fall in the consolation bracket.
UWSP will next be in action on Jan. 6 and 7 at the NWCA Multi-National Duals Meet Championships in Louisville, Ky.
