Kati Frierdich (Neenah, Wis./Winneconne) has been named to the College Sports information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VI team, the organization announced on Thursday (Nov. 11).

Frierdich becomes the first UWSP forward to snag the academic laurel since 2003 and the 19th recipient in program history. She was named to the All-WIAC first team on Wednesday after leading the Pointers to a third-place finish in the league standings.
On the field, Frierdich led the Pointers with 11 goals, the first player to score double digit goals since 2012. She scored two goals in four different matches and three game-winning goals. She added two assists, including a helper on the game-winner against UW-Stout in the WIAC Tournament quarterfinals.
A two-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll recipient, Frierdich holds a cumulative 3.78 grade point average as an elementary education major.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form
Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
