STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams won five events and had several other strong performances on Saturday at the Big Dawg Invite in the Multi-Activity Center.  UWSP's men took second in the eight-team field with 95 points while the women scored 95 points to take third.
 
Results
 
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.54, topping the field by 0.75 seconds.  Wellhausen teamed with Rebecca Alter (Trevor, Wis./Wilmot), Elle Maculan (Rockford, Ill./Auburn) and Michelle Petkovsek (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) to win the 4x400-meter relay by more than three seconds with a time of 4:07.32.
 
Kasy Walker-Daniels (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) won the triple jump for the second time on the year with a leap of 37-00.25 (11.28 meters.
 
In throws, Larkin Hoepner (Eau Claire, Wis./North) took first in the shot put for the second time this season with a distance of 44-05.00 (13.55 meters), dominating the field with a throw 0.55 meters further than the runner-up.
 
Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) won the 60-meter hurdles for the men. He clocked a time of 8.42 seconds, just 0.04 ahead of second place.
 
The Pointers return to Whitewater on Saturday (Feb. 15) for the Midwest Invitational. Events kick off at 11:00 a.m.
