BROWN DEER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team competed in the first day of the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) today. The men's team is leading UW-Eau Claire, 288-233. The women's team is in fourth with 138.
Results
Payton Kilian (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) and
Jackson Kammermeier (Honeyoye, N.Y./Honey Falls Lima Central) took first and second place in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 21.17 and 21.41, respectively.
The relay team of
Owen Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County),
Will Lennertz (Muskego, Wis./Franklin),
Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon) and Kammermeier placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:23.73.
The relay team of
Alec Jeffers (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port),
William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick),
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton) and Kilian finished second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time 3:21.83.
Aegerter also took second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:50.79.
Sam Young (Verona, Wis./Middleton) finished fourth with a time of 1:52.66.
Caiden Kuehn (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) placed third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:42.91.
For the women,
Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:00.21. It was the second-straight year that Pilecky won the event.
Maggie Liska (North St. Paul, Minn./Mahtomedi) finished in third place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.26.
Day two of the WIAC Championships picks back up Friday (Feb. 14) with the preliminary round at 10:00 a.m.
