CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Senior
Maddy Hardyman (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing) scored with three seconds on the clock as the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (4-1-1) earned a 3-2 victory at Coe College (4-2-0) on Sunday.
The Pointers took the lead in the 15th minute as
Kaitlyn Hess (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) converted her second penalty kick of the year. The Kohawks tied the match in the 39th minute and the game remained tied at the half.
In the 63rd minute, UWSP took the lead again on a goal from
Jacqueline Aleman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont), her first of the season.
Coe answered again in the 82nd minute to level the match at 2-2.
As the clock ticked down, Hess found Hardyman for the game-winner with just three seconds left in regulation.
UWSP freshman goalkeeper
Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) earned her fourth win of the season, making one save. Coe keeper Alex Montalbano made eight saves.
The Pointers close out the road trip on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at Carroll with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
