MEQUON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team sent a dozen athletes to compete at the CUW Open on Saturday and came away with nine falls on the day.
Results
Luke Smiley (Plainfield, Ill./North) was the consolation runner-up at 157. He had four wins on the day, including a fall and two major decisions.
Ben Kasten (Reedsville, Wis./Brillion) also picked up four wins in the bracket with two falls and two sudden victories to take fourth.
Blaz Daul (DePere, Wis./Freedom) and
Tucker Almond (Bossier City, La./Airline) each won once by fall in the bracket.
Jerry Lipke (Milton, Wis./Milton) won three matches in the 197 bracket to take sixth in the consolation bracket. He won by fall in his first match and had a pair of decision victories on the day.
Kody Priesgen (Mayville, Wis./Mayville) pinned a pair of foes in the 285 bracket.
Kyle Smith (Madison, Wis./LaFollette) had a pin at 141.
Zach Moon earned a 4-3 decision victory in his first match of the day at 184.
The Pointers return to action on Dec. 4 with a 7:00 p.m. dual at UW-Platteville.
