CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior
Dan Squires (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and senior
Dylan Diebitz (West Allis, Wis./West Allis) had already locked up All-American status heading into day two of the NCAA Championships, the only question was where each would place. Squires placed sixth and Diebitz earned a seventh-place finish.
Results
Squires opened his day by advancing by benefit of a medical forfeit. He lost a 3-1 decision in his next match to John Boyle of Western New England. In the fifth-place match, fifth-seed Christos Giatras earned a 3-1 sudden victory over Squires.
Diebitz suffered a major decision loss (8-0) in his opening match of day two. He moved on to the seventh-place match and defeated fifth-seed Devon Carrillo of Wesleyan by a 3-1 decision to avenge a loss earlier in the tournament to Carrillo.
