MEQUON, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team sent 12 athletes, including nine freshmen to the Concordia Open on Saturday.

Matt Berlin (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) placed fourth in the 133-weight class. He won a 12-4 major decision and earned a 9-2 decision win in the championship bracket. He fell to reigning NCAA Champion Brock Rathbun of Wartburg in the semifinals. In the consolation bracket, he earned a 9-2 decision.
Ben Kasten (Reedsville, Wis./Brillion) finished fourth at 165. He had a trio of one-point decision wins on the day. In the semifinals, he fell to eventual bracket champion Eddie Smith of Loras.

Taran Holland (Princeton, Wis./Princeton) won by fall in the first period twice over foes from Triton and UW-Whitewater.
Drosianos Louvaris (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) won by fall at 1:14 in his first consolation match in 141. In the 157 bracket,
Brandon Peckham (Plainfield, Wis./Tri-County) picked up two wins, including a sudden victory.
Austin Stebane (Brillion, Wis./Brillion) had two victories in the 184 bracket. He picked up a 2-0 decision win over Amad Alghananim of Triton and later had a 12-3 major decision win in the consolation bracket.
