LA CROSSE, Wis. – Senior
Jesse Johnson (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) set the UW-Stevens Point track and field outdoor pole vault record in La Crosse, Wis. At the Ashton May Invite on Saturday. In team scoring, the men finished third with a total event score of 108 and the women finished in fourth with a total event score of 74.

Johnson cleared the bar at a school-record height of 5.01 meters (16' 5.25"), but the height was only good enough to claim third place in the pole vault.
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) picked up a first-place finish in the triple jump. The senior finished with a distance of 14.73 meters (48' 4"). Williams also placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time 10.64, just .10 seconds off matching the university outdoor record.
Mackenzie James (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) won the long jump with a distance of 7.43 meters (24' 4.5"). Teammate
Brayden Bernhagen (Markesan, Wis./Markesan) finished in fourth place with a distance of 6.53 meters (21' 5.25").
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.41. Wojt also teamed up with
Tanner Akers (Westfield, WI/Westfield),
Lee Jepsen (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale),
Michael Von Schledorn (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) for the 4x100-meter relay, finishing in second place with a time of 42.95. Teammates
Jeremy Lee (Viroqua, WI/Viroqua), Abrahm Schroedel,
Matthew Miller (Hillsboro, WI/Kickapoo), and
Alex Poncelet (Hastings, Minn./Hastings) followed in third place with a time of 43.21.
Christian Ferguson (Milwaukee, Wis./SCTE) and
Brayden Bernhagen (Markesan, Wis./Markesan) grabbed the fourth and fifth spot in the high jump. The pair finished clearing heights of 1.95 meters (6' 4.34") and 1.95 meters (6' 4.34").
Michael Pomaville (Dousman, WI/Mukwonago) grabbed a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. Pomaville finished with a time of 56.35.
Brent Reierson (Watertown, WI/Watertown) slotted fifth in the shot put with a distance of 15.25 meters (50' .5").
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, WI/Aquinas) also finished fifth in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:56.57.
Tyler Tanko (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) made his outdoor debut in the 5,000-meter run. Tanko crossed the finish line with an eighth-place finish, with a time of 16:02.04.
For the women,
Jordan Tyjeski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) won the discus throw with a distance of 43.39 meters (124' 4"). She also picked up a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw, finishing with a distance of 49.56 meters (162' 7").
Isabella Weekly (Plainfield, WI/Tri County) made her outdoor debut in the high jump. Weekly cleared the bar with a height of 1.65 meters (5' 5"), good for second in the event. She also appeared in the long jump, finishing in third-place with a distance of 5.65 meters (18' 6.5").
Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville) finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.87.
Jacklyn Butler (Oshkosh, WI/West) also made a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.80.
Leah Trempe (Combined Locks, WI/Kimberly) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.16.
Abigail Clement picked up a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.36.
The Pointers travel to Platteville, Wis. for the Platteville Invite on April 13 and 14.
