STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams took top billing in the team scores at the Pointer Invite on Saturday. The men won the 10-team field with a total event score of 197 and the women won the 12-team field with 198 points.

Meet Results
Two teams of Pointers went first and second in the 4x400 meter.
Leah Trempe (Combined Locks, WI/Kimberly),
Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville),
Sarah Vils (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) and
Hannah Mertens (West Bend, WI/Hartford Union) finished first with a time of 3:59.24. The team of Jackie Butler,
Makani Peters (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH),
Rebecca Alter (Trevor, Wis./Wilmot) and
Tatiana Sotka (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) finished in second with a time of 4:07.34.
In the high jump,
Isabella Weekly (Plainfield, WI/Tri County) earned a first-place finish. Weekly cleared the bar at 1.60 meters. Teammate
Briana Simonis (Rosholt, Wis./Rosholt) followed Weekly with a third-place finish. Weekly also picked up an additional first-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.60 meters.
Jackie Butler picked up a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. Butler finished with a time of 9.32, .10 seconds faster that her preliminaries time.
In the pole vault,
Angela Breunig (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished in first. Breunig cleared the bar at 3.69 meters, and finished better than her seeded height.
In the 5,000-meter run,
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) crossed the finish line in first. Wolf finished with a time of 18:53.64. Teammate
Bailey Boudreau (Wausau, WI/East) finished fifth with a time of 19:34.92.
Distance runner
Emily Schlebecker (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein) competed in the one-mile run. Schlebecker finished with a time of 5:22.30, a time good for first. Schlebecker's teammates
Georgia Harrison (West Bend, Wis./East) and Kara Hier followed going fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 5:40.54 and 5:41.06.
Derks picked up an additional first-place finish for the Pointers. Derks finished with a time of 2:17.25 in the 800-meter run.
Tatum Houlihan (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) competed in the triple jump for the Pointers. Houlihan finished with a distance of 10.45 meters, and set a new PR.
Abigail Clement was the sole presence for the Pointers in the 60-meter dash. Clement finished with a time of 7.93, a time good for third place.
Mertens and Trempe went three-four in the 400-meter dash. The pair finished with times of 59.05 and 59.31.
In the shot put,
Karen Wethal (Evansville, WI/Evansville) earned a fourth-place finish. Wethal threw a distance of 12.51 meters. In the shot put,
Jordan Tyjeski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) finished in sixth, with a distance of 15.40 meters.
On the men's side, two teams picked up a first and second win in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of
Takuto Kobayashi (Franklin, WI/Franklin),
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield),
Dylan McGuire (Luxemburg ,WI/Luxemberg-Casco) and
Matt Sosinsky (Princeton, WI/Princeton) finished in first place with a time of 3:26.10. The team of
Michael Pomaville (Dousman, WI/Mukwonago),
Noah Scheer (Elkhorn, WI/East Troy),
Jayden Jesse (Genoa City, Wis./Wilmot) and
Chase Franz (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) came in second with a time of 3:28.40.
In the high jump,
Christian Ferguson (Milwaukee, Wis./SCTE) picked up a first-place finish as he cleared the bar at 2.02 meters.
In the long jump,
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) contributed to the Pointers score with a first-place finish. Williams finished with a distance of 7.07 meters. Williams also won the triple jump with a distance of 14.25 meters.
A group of Pointers took the top five spots in the one-mile run.
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, WI/Aquinas),
Dane Tyler (Janesville, WI/Parker),
Matt Stelmasek (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg), Lukas Johnston and
Robert Lutz (Greendale, WI/Greendale) ran for the top five spots, respectively. The group all finished with times just under 4:30.
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) picked up a first place finish in the 200-meter dash. Wojt finished with a time of 22.45.
In the weight throw,
Logan Heil (Weston, WI/DC Everest) picked up a third-place finish. Heil threw a distance of 17.52 meters. In the shot put,
Brent Reierson (Watertown, WI/Watertown) and
Kyle Nowak (Stratford, WI/Stratford) finished in second and fourth place. Reierson and Nowak finished with distances of 15.87 and 14.93 meters.
In the pole vault, junior
Jesse Johnson (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) earned a third place finish. Johnson cleared the bar at 4.66 meters, setting a new PR.
In the 800-meter run,
Calvin VanRyzin (Appleton, WI/North) and
Michael Evans (Reedsville, WI/Valders) finished in third and fourth place. The duo finished with times of 1:58.83 and 1:58.91.
In the 400-meter run,
Matt Sosinsky (Princeton, WI/Princeton) picked up a second-place finish. Sosinsky finished with a time of 50.13. Teammate
Michael Pomaville (Dousman, WI/Mukwonago) finished fifth with a time of 51.07.
Sophomore distance runner,
Eric Zengler (Wausau, WI/West) finished the 3,000-meter run in third place. Zengler finished with a time of 9:11.92. Teammates
Max Zeitler (Gillett, WI/Gillett) and
Daniel Sikora (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) followed going third and fourth with times of 9:16.58 and 9:20.96.
The Pointers are on the road as they head to Oshkosh Wis. for the WIAC Quad on February 11. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
