OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team took first in a five-team field with a score of 184 at the WIAC quad meet on Saturday. The women's team placed third out of six teams with a total score of 87.50.

Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) and
Mackenzie James (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) finished first and second in the long jump. The duo finished with distances of 7.26 and 6.77 meters.
Junior
Jesse Johnson (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) won the pole vault event, clearing the bar at 4.91 meters.
Darian Ward earned a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.34. Ward also picked up a third-place finish in the long jump, with a distance of 6.69 meters.
Sophomore
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, WI/Aquinas) finished in second-place in the 800-meter run. Egbert finished with a time of 1:56.73.
In the shot put,
Brent Reierson (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished in second place with a distance of 16.30 meters. In the weight throw,
Logan Heil (Weston, WI/DC Everest) and
Brent Reierson (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished in second and third tossing distances of 17.64 and 17.28 meters.
In the high jump,
Christian Ferguson (Milwaukee, Wis./SCTE) and
Brayden Bernhagen (Markesan, Wis./Markesan) finished in second and third place. The pair cleared the bars at 2.00 and 1.95 meters.
Distance runners
Matt Stelmasek (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) and
Calvin VanRyzin (Appleton, WI/North) went second and third in the one-mile run. The duo crossed the line with times of 4:20.52 and 4:21.85.
Senior
Luke Johnston (Mokena, IL/Lincoln-Way East) ran an 8:48.60 in the 3,000-meter run, a time good for third. Fellow Pointer
Benjamin Jurenec (Mequon, WI/Homestead) finished in sixth-place with a time of 9:05.35.
Freshman
Ochae Viverette (Milwaukee, Wis./King), competed in the triple jump. Viverette completed his jumps with a distance of 12.51 meters, a distance good for third-place.
Robert Lutz (Greendale, WI/Greendale),
Nathan Dorn (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee),
Eric Zengler (Wausau, WI/West),
Max Zeitler (Gillett, WI/Gillett), and
Hunter Styka (Kimberly, WI/Kimberly) finished third through seventh, respectively, in the 5,000-meter run. The distance runners all finished with times under 16 minutes.
Freshman
Michael Von Schledorn (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) competed in the 60-meter dash. Von Schledorn finished with a time of 7.12, a time good for fourth.
Jayden Jess and
Michael Pomaville (Dousman, WI/Mukwonago) finished in fourth and fifth place in the 400-meter run. The pair finished with times of 50.32 and 50.74 seconds.
In the 60-meter dash, Abigail Clement was the lone Pointer to run for the women. Clement finished with a time of 7.80, a time that gave her a first-place finish.
Sophomore
Isabella Weekly (Plainfield, WI/Tri County) competed in the high jump. Weekly cleared the bar at a height of 1.70 meters. Teammate
Briana Simonis (Rosholt, Wis./Rosholt) cleared the bar at 1.50 meters, a height good for third-place. Weekly also picked up a first-place in the long jump with a distance of 5.76 meters.
Hannah Mertens (West Bend, WI/Hartford Union) picked up a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash. Mertens finished with a time of 25.86.
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) picked up another third-place finish for the Pointers in the one-mile run. Wolf finished with a time of 5:13.16. Wolf was one second behind the first-place finisher.
Angela Breunig (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished in fourth place in the pole vault. Breunig finished with a height of 3.53 meters.
The Pointers are back at the Multi-Activity Center on February 18 for the Big Dawg Invite. The meet is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
